Unigis & SPINlab Staff Mutations

New project researcher Adriaan Tas

My name is Adriaan Tas. After a long study carreer (including MA in Cultural Anthropology, B.Sc. in Biology and a M.Sc. in Environment and Resource Management) and various fielwork trips (including Mexico and Kenya) and internships (ETC international, UNEP - United Nations Environment Programme), I started working at the SPINlab as of January 2006. At present, I am carrying out several tasks under the Land-use and Climate Change project (LANDS) as well as for the upcoming Geo Data Infrastructure for Disaster Management project (GDI4DM)



New project researcher Niels van Manen

My name is Niels van Manen. I worked at the SPINlab before, as a student-assistant for UNIGIS, between August 2002 and September 2003. Having finished history studies in Amsterdam (Doctoraal) and York (MA), I am currently working part-time as a Teacher in History and Religion at an international secondary school in Amsterdam. Since January 2006 I am also working at the SPINlab, for two days a week. I am involved as a researcher in our new project about the value of GIS for different scientific disciplines.
