In close cooperation with Oracle The Netherlands and Geodan, UNIGIS Amsterdam has organized an Oracle 10g workshop for UNIGIS students and alumni. The workshop was held on 2 and 3 February and was joined by fourteen students from the Netherlands and Spain. Han Wammes, Frans Knibbe and Albert Godfrind are all experienced tutors with extensive knowledge of Oracle Spatial. They lead the workshop and were responsible for the content. The workshop consisted of both theoretical and hands-on sessions. The aim was for students to become familiar with the possibilities that Oracle Spatial, Oracle Locator and Oracle MapViewer offer. Based on the reactions of staff and students the workshop can be called a success. Likely a simular workshop will take place at other UNIGIS sites worldwide in the future.
