Grand Alumni Event - June 16th - Amsterdam
by Bart Kusse

Dear all,
Some of you have frequently asked me when there was going to be another alumni event. “Another” I hear some of you thinking. Yes, there has been one event last year when some of the Diploma and MSc students received their diploma and had to present the results of their research, as well as the disaster management seminar in Almelo at the start of this year for which alumni were invited as well.
Now there is a next chance to meeting eachother and finding out what has been going on with UNIGIS and in GIS in general since you graduated. So, block Friday June 16th in your agenda, the program will be worthwhile and we managed to arrange interesting speakers.
This Friday will be the final day of the UNIGIS Annual Conference, a combined hosting for the 2nd and 3rd workshop in Amsterdam. Check the program on the internet to get an idea what is going on in these workshops since you finished. Some interesting material and speakers will attend the workshops and we also have managed to include some of them for the Friday program. Topics like ‘disaster-management’ (with the bird flue as a case study) and ‘spatial decision support’ rule the overall program. And, if you are working in an area other than GIS, we will supply you with a functional and sometimes technical update of the situation.

Still, most of all (and I can refer here to my own experiences) it is fun meeting your friends from some time ago and see how they are. Discuss where you left off some years ago and continue old conversations. We will provide the proper environment to do this. Just make sure you will be there and have a good time.

I am looking forward to meeting you again,

Bart
