Geomarketing
by Rosan van Wilgenburg

Two years ago by now I wrote an artikel as part of my Msc thesis about geomarketing. The paper aims to give insight in the field of geomarketing. Geomarketing, a case study: the use of GIS for the development of a marketing strategy for the Free University of Amsterdam serves as an example to illustrate what geomarketing involves.
Geomarketing involves the use of GIS for the realisation of strategic objectives of organisations based on the fact that the market differs from one place to the other. The marketing mix: product, price, place (distribution/site selection) and promotion (communication), is used as a framework to describe useful GIS activities to gain more insight in geomarketing activities.
Another case-study I wrote in partial fulfillment of my MSc study concerns a South-African case-study on GIS and Project Management. For this study I was able to spend some time in South-Africa. I really enjoyed being there!
I am happy to announce that I received my Msc in 2005.
